Olympic hurdles and a chocolate medal
When Maggy set the task of an Olympic theme, I thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce the kids to some new sports. My favourite part of the Olympic’s is the athletics, so we talked about the different running races, long jump, javelin etc. They were all quite intrigued by the pole vault, but we though that might be a bit difficult to replicate so decided to make a hurdle instead.
I set the girls the challenge this morning, and this is what they came up with. Its not the prettiest, or the most functional ( the wind blew it over ) but they had a LOT of fun, which is all that matters!

Great fun for practising hurdle technique.
Then every Olympian needs a medal, preferably one made of chocolate! I just sellotaped a chocolate coin to some ribbon for this!
