After Little S was born we bought two grown up bikes and bike seats with the idea that we’d use them to keep fit. It was a good plan, but soon after I found out I was pregnant with H so my bike hasn’t been used a huge amount. My husband has mostly used his to cycle to and from the station as well the occasional bike ride with Z.
We’re now at the point where all the kids can actually ride without stabilisers, although we’re still a way off long family bike rides, it seems like a big milestone that we can all ride together on a safe route for short distances. Little H is pretty amazing, and has been riding her bike since being just over 3 years old. As our confidence teaching the kids to ride has grown it’s become easier and easier. The balance bike has helped a lot too.
Osbornes have created this cycling safety infographic which I’ll be reading with great interest, as I’m very hopefully that cycling will play a role in our quest to stay fit as a family in the future.
