Easter Baking

The Easter holidays started yesterday for us and as we are STILL waiting for baby number 4 to arrive we thought we’d try some baking. Luckily for us a parcel from NowTV arrived with everything we needed to make some fun and slightly unusual hot cross buns based on kids TV shows available on NowTV and Guylian sent us some rather decadent chocolate eggs.

First up are our Easter nests. We made these just like normal nests but added a couple of special eggs to the top! They were delicious and lasted about 2 minutes in our house as the girls insisted on giving them out to friends.

Guylain eggs are available for around £4 and there are a great range of other Easter products available too.

NowTV Hot Cross Buns

We have just switched to NowTV from our previous provider to save some money, but hadn’t signed up the kids package yet, so again it was perfect timing for NowTV to send us a voucher to try the kids package out. Did you know there are no adverts on NowTV?  The no ads is feature I love and for just £2.99 a month NowTV Kids Pass gives you a brilliant range of kids TV shows which will be very useful when the baby finally arrives if I need to keep the bigger ones entertained more than usual.

The Hot Cross Buns were very easy to make and a great learning experience, you know how much we love easy science experiments, as we talked about how yeast works and why we had to wait for the dough to rise.

We loved  these Bun-der the sea Hot Cross Buns inspired by Nicktoon’s SpongeBob SquarePants, these have blueberries, pineapple, chocolate and fudge pieces in them.

These pink delights are inspired by The Powderpuff Girls and were amazing, I love the combination of the sweet icing and doughy bun.

This little one was very pleased with herself.

Love the look of those hot cross buns – they would go down very well in this house too.
