I’ve desperately been trying to write a post for #ONEMums all week, but I just kept staring at the letters wondering what on earth to write. Then H got a stomach bug, I spent most of Wednesday and Thursday cuddling her and kissing her hair which still smelled vaguely of sick.
Just as H was getting better I came down with the same bug. Little S’s response was ‘Why did you cuddle H when she was germy?‘ and then it hit me, what being a Mum really means to me. It means putting someone else first, loving someone else so much that you don’t mind getting sick yourself you just want them to be better.
This week the lovely Michelle and Jen from BritMums have been in Ethiopia with ONE Mums, an organisation dedicated to raising awareness of extreme poverty and preventable disease. ONE is not a charity, and is not asking for your money. All they need is for you to add your voice to the movement that is keeping this issue on the political agenda for change.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Sign up to ONE and add your voice to the campaign.
2. If you own a website, consider adding the widget to make it easy for your visitors to add their voices too.
3. If you’re a parent blogger, you can take part in this quick meme from Seasider Clare and link up so other’s can find you easily and write their own.
That is just perfect! Hope all the kids are better now.
Thanks for joining in x
Thanks Clare. xx
That’s so true. Us Mums are selfless when it comes to our little people 🙂
We are 🙂
Thank you love, yes indeed being a Mum is about them coming first, we all all united in this worldwide. Mich x
