My favourite time of year

Published: Sep 19, 2014 by admin · This post may contain affiliate links or sponsored content

Autumn is my favourite time of year, I’m not a fan of hot, hot sun, so when Summer starts fade I find myself wanting to get out exploring even more than usual. I love the feeling of crunchy leaves underfoot, walks in jumpers and scarves while it’s still not cold enough for a winter coat and snuggling together with a hot chocolate under tree.

We often find ourselves in the woods or at a National Trust site on the weekends, and have loved working our way through the 50 things to do before you’re 11 and ¾.

The girls have spent much of summer making bigger and bigger daisy chains.

Z is generally found up a tree if one is in sight.

We’re lucky enough to live on the edge of a nature reserve with literally hundreds of blackberry plants so have picked a LOT this Summer and made several delicious blackberry crumble cakes.

We spent little H’s birthday on a farm which she LOVED!!

How many of the 50 things have you tried this Summer?

Next on our list is to find a cave to explore, make a grass trumpet and go to the beach to find a rock pool.

I’m just about to download the 50 things app so we can get inspiration for activities on the go and ideas for the best places to go.
