Overheard at Christmas

Published: Jan 7, 2014 by admin · This post may contain affiliate links or sponsored content

December flew by in a blur of work, shopping, pantomimes and Christmas plays, we giggled, laughed, got very stressed, but mostly had a wonderful time all together.

One of my favourite memories is all three children gathered around the table writing cards, singing songs from their plays together. By the end of the month we no longer knew which songs were from which play everyone knew the words to them all, even if they did get a little mixed up.

Z, as always did us proud in his play. He was a narrator, and knew all his words without the script. When it was his turn to speak he would stand up, put the script carefully on his chair and confidently say his bit. Little S was a gorgeous, if fidgety Angel and H the cutest cloud you’ve ever seen. I feel very lucky to have three such fantastic kids.

From Little S

“Ha yeh yu yah, Ha yey yu yah, the price is born today”

From Z

“We wish you  a Merry Christmas OR a Happy New Year”

From H

“Are we seeing Farmer Christmas today?”

“It can’t be Christmas it’s not snowed”

Christmas Morning

“I got a train, I got a train, IT’s NOT REAL”

“Where’s my stick insect, ooooh here it is “

“I got a bike, I got a bike, it’s got my name on” – almost falls over

“Ruldolph isn’t a real reindeer you know”

“Look at those muddy footprints, naughty Farmer Christmas”

Gorgeous! The Bug also felt cheated that it hadn’t snowed. Nice to know that I can only choose a Happy Christmas or a Happy New year!

    Great post!
We have Farmer Christmas here too!
It is a little worrying as we live next door to a farm and the little one keeps asking “any more presents from Farmer Christmas” before looking longingly over the fields!!!
