Tots100 Christmas Party

Modified: Jan 4, 2012 · Published: Dec 13, 2011 by admin · This post may contain affiliate links or sponsored content

Last weekend was the Tots100 Christmas Party at Butlins and rather fab it was as well. One of the best things about blogging is the lovely friends I have made along the way, and it was amazing to see everyone again.

I was a little unsure about going to Butlins, I’m a bit more of a Center Parcs kind of girl, but people assured me it was clean and the kids would love it. They were right. We stayed in the Shoreline hotel which was lovely. Z and S were very excited to have bunk beds to sleep in, and their own TV and DVD player.

I had a fantastic time seeing Jessies_online, Love_from_ Mummy, MummyMishaps, MummyDaddyMe, MummyandBeastie, TheBoyandMe, Mammasaurus and of course my Science sparks partner MultipleMummy again. It was also a lovely surprise when ActuallyMummy tapped me on the shoulder in the bar, and fab to meet so many new people.

We all met in the afternoon for coffee, mince pies, some mingling and a tree decorating competition. I was lucky enough to be on the winning team, so am looking forward to receiving my lovely hamper full of Christmas treats.

So would I go back to Butlins for a holiday with the kids? On our own probably not, it was a little too slot machine and fairground-like for me, but as a destination to meet with other families where everyone can have fun for a decent price I probably would. I do think that at the moment my children are a little young to get the most out of it. When they are older and can stay up later and go off and do their own thing it would be much better.

Z and S still had a great time though. Z’s favourite part was climbing the ladder to bed and S said she liked the swimming!! I’m sure Z had more fun than just climbing the ladder but he really would love a high bed!

I was a little disappointed we couldn’t get to see Santa as he was fully booked up, in retrospect we should have stayed longer, but school, work and Z’s friends party didn’t allow for that.

Three small children also makes for a stressful time wherever you are, not helped by baby H crying most the night for the two nights we were there.

Huge Thank You to Tots100 for organising such a great weekend. It was lovely to be at an event where the children and partners could take meet up as well as bloggers themselves.

It was so lovely to finally meet you and your gorgeous family. I wish it had been for longer, and I also wish there had been a soft-play coffee-shop type of area where the children could have played together and we could have got a chance to natter. Maybe there was and we missed it?

It is difficult with the little ones as there is so much queuing to see anything, especially when they are of different ages and have different interests, on paper the place looks amazing but it’s so hard to squeeze it all into a short space of time – when they are older & able to do things on their own they will enjoy it more I’m sure.

It was great to see you again & finally meet Z,S & H – I felt as though I knew them already!

Butlins did seem perfect for Sam’s age with the football and pool. x

It was lovely to see you again Emma, and your children are gorgeous. I think little H and Mads could have been firm friends if we had let them play together! It is hard when they are little- we didn’t want to leave Mads out too late so feel we missed out a little on the nighttime activities. Oh well there is always next year! x
