Lots of teeth and a forgetful tooth fairy

Published: Mar 11, 2014 by admin · This post may contain affiliate links or sponsored content

Z and S seem to have lost a LOT of teeth now and I’ve somehow got myself into a bit of a tooth fairy muddle. There were awkward questions one day and before I knew it I was on the phone to the tooth fairy telling her I’d leave the back door open so she could sneak in…..which then made it even harder to explain why she subsequently forgot to come……..

Z “Is the tooth fairy real?”

Me “Of course, who else would leave you money”

Z “Why did Daddy say fairies are not real?”

Z “How was the tooth Fairy born?”

Me “She is sort of Magic”

Z “Like Santa and God?”

I’m also struggling to explain how God was born if anyone can help with that one?

Been a n epedemic of teethe loss lately and shes a bit behind herself. As to God well I would say Godas full of wonder and mystery and maybe he’ll let us know one day but that you don’t have a clue either (I use this for a lot of God questions)

Well on the god front we heard a great story this week. Sophie who we recently travelled with mentioned that her niece had been doing evolution in school and then asked her mum “was god a monkey?”

    Work that one out 🙂

Kitty got me stumped when the tooth fairy brought her a toy when her 1st tooth fell out:
‘mummy is the tooth fairy tiny?’
    ‘yes Kitty, very tiny!’
‘I wonder how she lifted such a heavy toy then’
    ‘Errrrr’

oh dear what a lot of questions! We had an extremely naughty tooth fairy once who forgot to come. Thankfully it was a very stormy night and so it was clear that it would have been unsafe for her to fly with her delicate wings. x

Love those questions!! And I think Daddy is far too honest. Tsk tsk. I have aligned the tooth fairy with Santa and God too……..

Am I wrong for for telling them the truth? My oldest told he didn’t believe when he was 7/8 and I told him he was right. This was the same day he told me that Father Christmas was just a ma dressed up he knew where babies came from.As for god, they have always been taught some people believe, so I stick to that.

Ooh I made my first fairy error recently. She forgot two nights running! To make matters worse, she remembered to leave an apology note the second night, but still didn’t come up with the money!

Yeah that was my fave question at Sunday school. The answer they used to give me was
‘he was not born, he just is’
which always lead on to a confused ‘so he’s magic?’ and the awkward response of
    ‘no he is God’
That IS NOT a bloody answer!!

Our tooth fairy forgets quite regularly, when I rummage about a bit though I usually find it under the bed or in the pillow case 😉 xx
