Make the Most of Your Family Florida Holidays

August 1, 2016 by admin Leave a Comment

Florida is the perfect family holiday destination. There’s simply never a dull moment, since it’s absolutely packed with things to do. If you are, however, feeling a little on the indecisive side when choosing activities to keep all the family entertained, here are the best of the bunch.

Orlando, the home of theme parks

You can’t go on your Florida holidays without paying a visit to Orlando. Famous for its many theme parks, film studios and much more, Orlando is an absolute dream for children of any age. Among the most popular are Disney, SeaWorld and Universal studios. A particular highlight is Universal’s new Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a real treat for any Potter fan.

Check out the beaches

Get your trunks on, pack a beach ball and some sunscreen and head down to one of Florida’s many gorgeous beaches. Clear sea and white sands guaranteed, Siesta Key is said to be the best beach in America and is just a short drive from downtown Sarasota.

Learn more about dolphins, butterflies and turtles!

Florida has plenty of activities to satisfy curious minds. From swimming with dolphins at Orlando’s Discovery Cove to an educational tour of the facilities at The Turtle Hospital in Marathon, Florida is just the destination for animal lovers. You can even have a butterfly land on you at the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory!

Find out why Florida is nicknamed The City Beautiful

Florida is full of vast national parks with fantastic views. Perhaps the most well-known are the Everglades, a 1.5 million acre wetlands preserve, home to many different species of wildlife such as the endangered leatherback turtle and the Florida panther. Take a tram tour to save your feet getting wet and see if you can spot one!

Find time for a burger, shakes or fries or whatever you fancy…

America is renowned as being a land of plenty, so if you fancy a cheeky burger to fill a small corner you’re sure to find somewhere in Florida happy to oblige. If you’re looking for something even more fulfilling, Florida has a wealth of restaurants. You can gorge on traditional BBQ galore at Orlando’s 4 River Smokehouse — pulled pork, mac n cheese, brisket and grits are just a few of the local dishes on offer. If you manage to leave room for dessert, they also have cupcakes from their very own bakery to round off your meal.

Yes, Florida is certainly the place for a family adventure. Head out across the Atlantic and grab a slice for you and the kids. They’ll already be making plans to return on the plane back!
