Photo of the Week – July 14th 2019

Years and years ago when I first started this blog I would post a photo on a Sunday, I think I’m going to do that again as it’s a great way to look back on the year with a photo highlight for the week.

This week my photo is dedicated to my superstar 10 year old who finished third in our county level 3 gymnastics competition yesterday and that was with a terrible bar ( she fell off twice ). Gymnastics is such a hard sport and the skills expected from these girls are incredibly difficult. I am super proud of her perseverance and dedication to her sport.

Gymnastics has at various points taken over our life, there was even a postponed holiday a couple of years ago. She trains 5 days a week for a total of 24 hours, 30 minutes away from home. It’s a lot even just to get her there some weeks as I have a job and three other busy children to consider, but she works so hard and loves it so very much we have to give her the chance to see where this journey takes her.

Such an amazing achievement, so much grit and determination shown by her to put in the hours needed and to dust herself off after falling.

What an amazing achievement, well done!! I can totally relate with the commitments these things take! My son swim competitively and swimming sometimes feels like it takes over our life too with the training and competitions etc. I often joke I should probably just start camping out at the pool lol!
