1. Safari Adventures

The first reason to visit Kenya has to be for the safari adventures. Visitors are spoilt for choice with over 40 national parks and reserves to choose from.

Masai Mara National Reserve is famous for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests, zebras and gazelles cycle through the region driven by a search for fresh grazing ground. It’s an incredible spectable that tourists from around the world come to see.

Mount Kenya National Park

Mount Kenya National Park is home to Africa’s second highest peak, Mount Kenya as well as a huge variety of animals including lions, giraffes and zebras.

Tsavo West National Park

The rugged wilderness of this park is breathtaking with crystal clear water, lava rocks and rolling hills. Tsavo West National Park is famous for its man eater lions and magical sunsets.

2. Visit Mount Kenya

Hiking Mount Kenya is a challenging trek, so may not be suitable for younger members of the family. The hike is an unforgettable experience with diverse landscapes and incredible views. If you reach the summit, you can even see the snow capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. The hike is a great challenge for an adventurous family, but tourists do need to prepare carefully.

3. Explore the coast

A safari experience in Kenya isn’t complete without a trip to the coast. Kenya is home to miles of soft, pristine white sand beaches and warm, clear waters. Kenya’s coast is perfect for water sports with snorkeling, diving, kitesurfing and windsurfing commonly offered.

Coral reefs can be found in lagoons for once in a lifetime snorkelling opportunities and there are marine parks and reserves where visitors can see dolphins, turtles and tropical fish.

4. Experience a new culture

Visit Maasai villages to learn about their traditions, customs and way of life. Kenya has a vibrant culture and friendly people. Kenyans are known for their wonderful hospitality and welcoming nature.

Music and dance are important in Kenya with many styles of dance and musical instruments to reflect different traditions.

5. Breathtaking landscapes

Kenya is full of stunning views and landscapes. The Great Rift Valley has lakes and volcanoes. Mount Kenya has a snow topped peak, and the beaches of the Indian Ocean coastline are some of the best in the world.
