The Best Ways To Prepare Yourself For Pregnancy

When you’re trying to get pregnant, whether it’s your first time or your fourth, there’s a few things you can do to help your body adjust ahead of time.

Because pregnancy is not an easy thing to go through! Being pregnant can change your body forever, even after you’ve had your baby and you’re through the postpartum period.

Your body is going to be different in some way, or feel different, or react differently than you’re used to.

And preparing for these changes – as well as the energy-intensive act of creating life – is key. As such, here are some of the best ways to prepare yourself for pregnancy. Make sure you get started on them ASAP!

Go for a Few More Walks

Getting in a bit more exercise is always good for the body. However, it’s especially good when you’re trying to conceive and need to know you’re in pretty good shape.

Get those muscles working a bit more, get that heart pumping by taking a few more steep hills, and get some fresh air as you do it.

Walking is more beneficial than you might think, and if you don’t like the idea of suddenly hitting the gym 4 times a week, a 20 minute walk after work could be just the thing.

Take Some Vitamin B9 Supplements

Folate, or vitamin B9, is one of the most crucial substances to have on side when you’re trying to get pregnant.

And thankfully, it’s very easy to find it in supplement form! Head online to pharmacom to grab a box of folate ready-made for those trying to get pregnant, or head down to your local pharmacy and see what vitamins they’ve got in stock.

Try to Enjoy Yourself

Getting pregnant can be quite the stressful process. Even when you know your cycle (or have a good idea of it), and you and your partner are more than on the same page with starting a family, things can take time.

And the more time it takes, the more you’re likely to start to stress. You might try out a bunch of different crash diets, or new exercises, or try out any number of fertility boosters that really might not do anything for you at all.

And where does this stress come from? People telling you what to do! So most of all, don’t take any of the ‘dos and don’ts’ too seriously. And yes, that even includes this list!

Because the main thing you need to do right now is try and stay calm. Pregnancy is going to be hard enough on your body without you feeling like you have to track ovulation right down to the specific minute, or start avoiding your favourite foods because they might not be great for your baby.

But pregnancy is about you as well, and you deserve to be able to enjoy it!

Preparing yourself for pregnancy is a good idea, so start treating yourself right before baby your comes along!
