A New Look For A New Year

Published: Dec 16, 2015 by admin · This post may contain affiliate links or sponsored content

We’ve been in our house now for nearly 8 years, I’m not entirely sure where that time has gone. When we moved in, Zak was just 1 and I was pregnant with Sydney, it was meant to be a stop gap house, but actually it’s worked out REALLY well, we have lots of space, a good sized garden and are around the corner from a park which has been brilliant for getting the kids out of the house easily when we all need a break. It’s now decision time as we’d like to move before we have to apply for Secondary School for my eldest ( I cannot believe I am even thinking about that ) but the house definitely needs a bit of a refresh first.

The carpets are a bit battered from three babies and then toddlers, cream was never going to be the best colour was it? The kids rooms are a all looking a bit worse for wear as well. The girls have been picking the wallpaper off their feature wall and Zak’s room is looking pretty scruffy too. I really struggle for boys bedroom ideas and don’t really know where to start. He has a high sleeper bed with lots of storage, but bits of LEGO and other toys still end up over the floors and windowsills, he has roller blinds on his curtains but they let in light around the edges so could really do with some curtains too.

The girls need the wallpaper completely stripping from their wall and keep asking me for a blue room, which I’m not ever so keen on, ( currently it’s pink ) we might have to find a compromise with yellow or maybe a mint green? As they share a room space is a big issue too, they have a small wardrobe, but big drawers under their bed which just seem to get fuller and fuller by the day. Basically we need a huge clear out.

I think I need to finish my list of ideas and then we all sit down to talk about what everyone likes.  There are some AMAZING ideas on Pinterest and Homify, I can’t wait to start planning.

What do you think of these?
