Busy Weekends

July 2, 2019 by admin 3 Comments

It’s that point in the year where life gets even more crazy than normal. We’re in full on end of term frenzy with 3 weeks of swim galas, a gym competition and drama exams as well as the usual netball, band and other clubs…I am definitely ready for a holiday.

We spend SO much time running around that our ( limited ) time at home on the weekends is quite stressful as we’re doing homework, music practice, dropping kids to various sporting activities and generally trying to keep the house in a reasonable state and cook so the kids are only eating stuff you stick in the oven half the time. After a particularly unhappy weekend a few weeks ago ( me, not the kids – they were off out and about ) I decided we needed to get out as a family more and that staying in catching up on work and washing wasn’t doing me any good at all. So, last weekend we got out early and spent a lovely Sunday morning lakeside. The kids did paddle boarding and kayaking while we went on a long walk with Charlie and took lots of photos.

I know I felt much better for having spent the morning outdoors and I’m sure the kids did too.

How do you spend your weekends?

Just reading how much you get up to has exhausted me – we try and keep Sunday’s quite calm so that we can start the week rested. But, best-laid plans and all that!

Looks like the kids had a lot of fun canoeing and paddle boarding. I like the weekends, even working from home you don’t have to answer emails and we always try to go for a meal Sunday night

    Nice post.
I love outdoor sports, specially water sports like kayak, now that my daughters grow a bit I´m starting to practice all this sports in family and we are really having a great time.
    Thanks for sharing!!
