Capturing the moments

January 30, 2015 by admin 9 Comments

Sometimes things happen that I just want to freeze in my mind forever, they pop up when I least expect it, aren’t planned or staged, there is no camera around, just an expression or some words that I want to hold onto. This morning was one of those moments, by total coincidence I happened to be in school reception sorting out some PTA bits when my little Year R girl walked by with the VERY important job of delivering the lunch orders. She marched past, head held high, back straight, so very proud of herself. She looked so little, but so confident, so secure in her surroundings and so generally happy.  Being at school with her big sister seems to have brought them even closer together, I watched from behind today as they walked into the playground hand in hand, chatting, playfully nudging each other…another funny little moment to capture and treasure forever.

On a funnier note, finding Z trying to attach my pots and pans to himself with a ball of wool so he looked like The Saucepan Man from The Faraway Tree might just have been one of the funniest moments in my parenting life so far.

These are very special moments, especially for us, parents when we see our kids being so close to each other. As you wrote – little moments to treasure forever 🙂

I know exactly what you mean about capturing moments – sometimes I just want to say hold it and whip out my camera but I know that would probably ruin the moment 😉
