Great Birthday Party Ideas for a Teenager

February 28, 2024 by admin Leave a Comment

I remember not so long ago when parties involved a bouncy castle in a hall or sports centre, a trampoline park or soft play. We’d rock up with a cake and party bags, and that was it; the kids would run around for around and leave sweaty, tired and happy. Birthday parties for teenagers are a different ball game, but I have some ideas to keep everyone happy!

Birthday Party Ideas for Teens

Aqua Park

For summer birthdays, an aqua park is a great choice. You can usually get special offers, and it’s a slightly unusual activity that doesn’t break the bank.

If you’re near Reading, Caversham Lakes is a great option and also offers paddleboarding and kayaking if the kids prefer that.

Themed Escape Room

Escape rooms are a great teen activity. If you don’t have one nearby, you can buy inexpensive escape room kits and set it up at home!

Outdoor Movie Night

Create a cosy outdoor cinema with blankets, pillows, and fairy lights. Get the kids to vote for their favourite movie and use a projector to play it. Portable outdoor movie screens are easy to make, and little extras like a popcorn stand and a drinks stall make it extra special. Poptop Parties have a brilliant selection of outdoor screen and movie projectiors to make party planning even easier!

For winter birthdays, an indoor movie night with pyjamas, facemasks and snacks also works well.

Play Golf

Mini golf works well for tweens, and Top Golf or something similar is a fantastic option for older children.

Footgolf is a slightly more unusual option and inexpensive way to spend a couple of hours.

Craft Party

Set up several crafting stations with activities such as jewellery making, pottery, customising T-shirts or painting canvas frames. You could even have a medieval armor display as a unique centerpiece, showcasing replicas and letting teens explore the craftsmanship behind historical battle gear. This is a lovely low-key activity that gives teens time to relax and chat while doing something creative.

Karaoke Party

Set up a karaoke machine, snacks and drinks and let teens sing the night away. This is a great indoor party to do at home when the weather isn’t good enough to get outside.

Game Night

For gaming fans, organise a game night with different game consoles or rent a gaming truck to come to the house.

Outdoor Adventure Party

Depending on what you have nearby, an afternoon of GoApe or other high ropes activity is always fun and great for teens of all ages!

If you have any more ideas for birthday parties for teens, please let me know!
