How to live to 100

Keeping my children happy and healthy is of the utmost importance to me. I try very hard to keep us all as active as possible and give everyone a healthy diet, I want to give them all the best start in life I can.

This infographic from BMI Healthcare is really interesting and has been produced  after having conducted a study on the consequences of bad habits on long term health. From this research, among other facts, they found that in 2011, nearly a third of children aged 10 to 11 in England suffer from obesity or weight issues. This is shocking, but not surprising. We have such easy access to unhealthy foods and these are often the cheapest.

The infographic presents these facts in easily digestible age group specific sections, as well as providing a series of tips to aid healthy living.

As a parent of young children, I find the statistics on the teenager infographic even more frightening, I REALLY hope that by the time my children are teenagers, smoking is even more unpopular than it is now.

The young adult information is mostly about drinking, I know I drank too much as a young adult, and I really hope I can teach my children to be more sensible than I was.

The key themes throughout the infographic which you can see in better detail here http://www.bmihealthcare.co.uk/graphics/images/how-to-live-to-100.jpg  are exercise, eating well and keeping your brain active.

I really hope as a family we can achieve all those things.

What steps do you take to keep your family healthy.
