Photo of the Week – 28th July

July 27, 2013 by admin 25 Comments

I couldn’t pick just one photo this week so I have three, all taken yesterday at Moors Valley Country Park. I’ve really been trying to take better photos, so if anyone has any hints or tips on what I could’ve done better, please let me know.

I think you’ve taken three really good photos, happy to explain why I like them if it’s not patronising?
    1) Excellent depth of field there with the focus on the concentration and mild anxiety on your gorgeous boy’s face. It’s also great to see from a different angle.
    2) The light on her face illuminates her delicate features brilliantly. Again, the DOF is ace.
    3) The horizontal lines are excellent, they divide the picture nicely and her gorgeous red hair frames her head which contrasts with the angular lines of the rest of the picture.

Thanks for linking up to Project 365 linky.

Based on the photography session we were treated to at Blog On I think they are all really good shots. I especially like the first one, as The Boy and Me said there is great depth of field.

I can really recommend capturing childhood. I think (although they still might not be that good) that there was a huge improvement in my photo’s after I completed a online course with them.

Using the presets Helen, is that any better than manual?
