Stanborough Park – Day Trips with Kids

Published: Oct 14, 2020 by admin · This post may contain affiliate links or collaborative content.

We visited the beautiful Stanborough countryside park in the summer holidays. It covers an area of 126 acres, with 2 gorgeous lakes.

The South Lake is home to Stanborough Activity Centre which we didn’t visit, but is home to a range of watersports including stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, open water swimming and more. The North side is home to a boating lake with peddle boats, and zorbing.

There’s plenty of green space for picnics and lots of walks and places to explore as well as a brilliant outdoor gym.

Splashlands

We spent most of our time in the brand new Splashlands area. This needs to be booked, although is FREE!

A paddling river meanders through the 600m² water play area. Ir’s surrounded by a nautical themed adventure playground with a large pirate ship and a plenty of fun play equipment. We had a 13 and a 3 year old with us and they both loved the whole experience.

It was quite a gloomy day when we visited so my photos don’t do it justice at all!

Vertigo Adventures

Vertigo Adventures High and Low Ropes was a brilliant add on to our day out. It’s very reasonably priced with two levels of ropes. My brave 10 year old loved the high ropes and my 13 year old found it quite challenging too. Younger children can do the lower level, or if they meet the height requirements both!

If you’re visiting the area you might also enjoy the activities at Willen Lake.
