Not the cake I planned, but…

March 24, 2013 by admin 15 Comments

Z had a football party yesterday, I’d semi planned a half football cake, but then remembered I am RUBBISH with rollout icing. Why I didn’t think of just piping it, I don’t know, but after seeing very yummy looking chocolate cakes from Helen and Jenny, I thought I’d try one like that. My plan was to pipe green icing on top for grass and then have a lone football resting in the middle.

However when I added the food colouring to the icing it turned into a big runny mess so at the last minute I found some green roll out icing and used that. I thought briefly about making a goal post, but settled on a couple of jumpers.

It’s not my finest work, but Z like it.

brilliant thinking on the jumpers, and a huge round of applause for your cake. I often have ideas beyond my ability, now I plan nothing and go with the flow then I am not disappointed
