Karcher WD4 Premium – more than just a vacuum cleaner

February 28, 2017 by admin 10 Comments

Recently we started to declutter and clear our lives of all the things we had been hoarding over the years. We also improved our garden and for the time being decided to use artificial grass.

We cleared out our garage to the extent we could see the floor, and instead of moving house we converted our loft into much needed space for our children. It’s been a big and extremely messy year.

All of the above comes with a great deal of dust and dirt. Too much so for our rather battered bagged vacuum cleaner, which just couldn’t cope. Luckily Karcher came to the rescue and sent us the WD4 Premium to try out. It has been the most amazing and helpful item to have around over our months of building work. We’d most definitely have had a much messier house without it. We’ve sucked up leaves from the lawn and cleared more dust than you can imagine from the loft space. It’s generally been our handy helper for the last 6 months.

Why the Kärcher WD4 Premium?

Well, the Kärcher WD4 premium is aimed at the dirtier end of the market. Confident in its ability to vacuum rubble, sawdust, spills and even unblocking sinks.

The Kärcher WD4 Premium comes equipped with a 2.2m suction hose, two suction tubes, a cartridge filter and a wet to dry floor tool, all of which can be stored safely on the machine.

We wouldn’t dream of using our usual indoor vacuum in the garage, or on the damp lawn, but have no such issue with the Kärcher. Out of the box it’s suction was impressive and has stayed that way despite the heavy usage.

It made light work of the lawn, and the very dusty garage floor including nuts, bolts, screws – pretty much anything that we aimed it at, including a stray sock!

We thought that’s probably all we’d use it for, but then needed to get old, wet leaves out of the guttering, again the Karcher was perfect for the job. In addition to this the kids decided it would be fun to tidy up around the paddling pool. We had to stop them mid vacuum as they sucked water out of it (I don’t recommend this by the way!!! However for this short time the vacuum (and kids) were unharmed).

All the wet dirty material is nicely held in a very spacious vacuum bin, which after immediate cleaning looked brand new again!

With the Karcher looking as good as new once more, we decided to bring it in the house and use the tools and extensions. It performed far better than our existing “indoor” vacuum. It is quite large, so the stairs were tricky, but with some creative balancing they too were immaculate for the first time in a while.

In the loft we had been decorating – sanding, priming, sanding, painting. The amount of dust was unbelievable. The Karcher however handles this incredibly well. With the dust back installed we were able to again make everything spotless, still no problem with suction. The Karcher WD4 Premium is easily the most powerful vacuum we’ve have used. We really don’t know how we managed without it!

Wow you have been busy but this sounds like the perfect cleaner for the job. I love that you can vacuum the lawn with it too. I think an industrial cleaner is what my house needs at times! x

Ah now this looks like a vacuum cleaner and a half – exactly what I would buy if we were doing the extension my husband keeps telling me we have to do, that I’ve been putting off! I love that you have artificial grass too – I’d love to not have to worry about mowing the lawn. Can’t wait to see the completed conversion!

This sounds wonderful. My husband is a big Karcher fan, he loves the window mop and the pressure washer…….I am sure he would want this as a new toy for when he clears the gutters
