Music as Therapy

November 15, 2011 by admin 7 Comments

I have been tagged by the very lovely Helen at The Crazy Kitchen for the ‘Music as Therapy’ meme started by MammyWoo.

Like MammyWoo, I’ve not had much chance to listen to music lately, gone are the days when I had evenings free to wile away on itunes and train journeys to listen to my ipod and read trashy magazines.

So, last week when hubby was out I spent half an hour looking through my old music, picking songs which at some point were meaningful to me.

I’m not going to go into too much detail with the reasons behind my choices, as I like to keep my blog quite happy and these are not especially happy songs.

Iris – The Goo Goo Dolls

This might be my favourite song ever. I LOVE The Goo Goo Dolls.

and I don’t want the world to see me, cause I don’t think that they’d understand,

when everythings made to be broken

I just want you to know who I am.

When everything feels like the movies

You bleed just know your alive.

Evanescence – My immortal

These wounds won’t seem to heal this pain is just to real, theres just to much that time cannot erase

Cerys Matthews

When faced with my demons, I clothe them and feed them, and I smile, yes I smile as their taking me over.

So thanks to Lexy and Helen for taking me back in time.

Disclaimer – I was a miserable teenager, hence the sad old songs.

I like that first one but I don’t think I’ve heard the other 2 before – am I just too old?? I would listen to more of the last one as I probably have heard it but I cannot stand that woman!
    Thanks for joining in

I am clearly too old! I really don’t know these ones. I think I was deep in career or baby world at this time. Funny, I wonder if you will know any of mine when I do it?
