What to do with a giant box? Make a castle..

October 21, 2011 by admin 21 Comments

All three of my children LOVE cardboard boxes, so when we found this giant one we wanted to do something fun with it.

This is what we made.

All I did was cut out a door and some crenellation’s, then I gave Z and S some paint, glue and paper and let them go mad. They had a brilliant time, we even managed to write some numbers on some of the ‘bricks’ to get some writing practise in.

What do you think?

The flag is from Muddy Puddles, I think we need to find a better mast.

That’s a brilliant box activity! So simple but very effective; I think I’ll have a go at that.

Please could you link it up to my Boxing Clever linky?

I think it is wonderful! I have been wanting to get my kids a big box, but I don’t think about it when I am out and about. We once made a house out of a box and my daughter who was 2 at the time had so much fun and she drew and painted on it for at least two weeks. Boxes are the best!
